Recreational Sports

The recreational sports program provides opportunities for the Earlham community to engage in physical activities to create healthy lifestyle habits. It seeks to offer a chance for all members of the College community to more fully enjoy their recreational leisure time, and in so doing to benefit physically, emotionally, psychologically and socially. The recreational sports program is voluntary, and a desire to participate is of greater importance than skill level. It also offers the opportunity to participate in a sport without the time commitment of a varsity team.
Registration Information
For any activity, all teams are required to be composed of Earlham College students, faculty or alum. All recreational sport events are co-ed. The teams may change from sport to sport. Team rosters which change from sport to sport encourage people to branch out and have contact with new faces. Suggested groups to form recreational sports teams are: dorms, halls, houses, majors and special interest groups.
To participate in recreational sports, an individual without a selected team may register as a free agent.
Recreational Sports Handbook
In order to participate, a Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity must be filled out prior to game play. This form is filled out when registering for a league via ImLeagues.com. If you would like a hard copy of the waiver, please contact Dillon Wiseman at [email protected] or 765-983-1665.
All Earlham students, faculty/staff, and alumni are eligible to participate in recreational sports.
All regular season games will be posted to IMLeagues following the end of the registration period.
The playoff schedule will be released following the final regular season game.

All teams will qualify for the playoffs of their league. Seeding will be determined by the standings of the league. If a team forfeits 2 or more of their regular season games they will be disqualified from the playoffs.
All teams and players are expected to display a high level of sportsmanship. Recreational sports are intended to be fun. Participants who do not display good sportsmanship will be deemed ineligible to play following a meeting with the Director of Rec Sports.

Meeting must be scheduled with the Director of Rec Sports before returning from an ejection.
Teams are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled match time.
Late policy: Teams will be given a 15 minute grace period to field a roster for their game. Teams can be assessed a late penalty (start the game down by 1 or similar) for failure to show up on time.
